What we publish:
We publish poetry, short fiction, cartoons, and sketches for their literary and artistic merit as well as their entertainment value. As we are devoted to humour, submissions should be FUNNY! They should also be previously unpublished or previously to have been deemed unpublishable.

How to submit?
Submissions for Feathertale should be sent by email to: submissions@feathertale.com.

In the body of your email, please include your name and full address including phone number and email address* and a few autobiographical sentences telling us who you are and what you do. Please clearly indicate, in the subject of your email, which category (fiction, poetry, cartoons, or contests) your submission is for. All stories should be attached as Word or PDF docments, all comics and artwork should be attached as JPEG or TIFF files. For publication in the review, we will ask that you submit a 300dpi image file or the original artwork. We are flexible, please contact us if you have any questions or concerns about file sizes.

While we prefer that your submissions be made online, you may also send us your stuff by snail mail to:

Please include your name, telephone number, email and home addresses in your package. If you wish your work to be returned, please include with your submission a self addressed stamped envelope in Canadian return postage or International Reply Coupons.

Length:
Short fiction submissions should be no longer than 1500 words. Poems can be up to 1000 words. Please do not submit more than 2 poems at once. We ask that artwork submissions be kept to a reasonable file size.

Selections:
These will be done periodically as we see fit. We will try to respond to everyone's submissions quickly.

Payment:
We like to pay our online contributors... with hugs and thank you cards. However, any online contributors that see publication in our annual Feathertale Review will be monetarily rewarded.

Proofreading:
Proofreading will be done by a team of monkeys and a dictionary. Our monkeys pride themselves on their innovative use of grammar and spelling.

Terms:
We buy First North American Serial Rights, or reprint rights. We request permission to publish your submissions on our website as well as in our Annual Review (Yes, we do actually go to press once a year!). A brief biographical sketch of all our contributors will be added to our website.

*Privacy Policy:
Feathertale will not sell your personal information or share it with anyone else, unless offered the equivalent of $17,000,000 in severed Barbie Doll heads and all the wooden shoes in Holland. If for any reason, you would like your information removed from our records, contact our webmonkey.
